Common use
Ciloxan is an antibiotic eye and ear drop used to treat bacterial infections such as conjunctivitis (pink eye) or otitis externa (outer ear infection). It contains Ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone that kills bacteria by stopping their DNA replication.

Dosage and direction
Apply the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye or ear, usually 2–4 times daily. Use the drops at evenly spaced intervals and avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.

Precautions
Do not wear contact lenses while using Ciloxan for an eye infection. Inform your doctor if you have a history of allergic reactions to antibiotics or tendon disorders.

Contraindications
Ciloxan should not be used by individuals allergic to Ciprofloxacin or other quinolones. It is not for use in viral or fungal infections of the eye or ear.

Possible side effect
Mild burning or stinging may occur after application. Rare but serious side effects include eye pain, swelling, or allergic reaction symptoms.

Drug interaction
While topical interactions are rare, avoid combining with other eye or ear drops unless advised by a doctor. Inform your doctor about all medications you are using.

Missed dose
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one—do not apply a double dose.

Overdose
Overuse may lead to increased irritation or drug resistance. Accidental oral ingestion should be reported to a healthcare provider.

Storage
Store Ciloxan at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children.
